Ranunthorn loves her job and says that she is drawn to the challenges it presents her each day. “My role is Regulatory Affairs. This means that I deal with the authorities, for instance, Thai Customs, Thai FDA and the Excise Department. Invacare is a medical device importer company, so we have to follow the rules and regulations of each authority in each county. For every medical device and accessory, we have to obtain official approvals.”

Having joined the team recently, Ranunthorn says that she’s feeling excited about all the new products that need to be registered, and is enjoying the opportunity to learn and develop her skills. “Invacare in our region is young, only two years old, so we are still building our systems and our culture. As a team, I can say that we really do trust and respect one another and that is a very important and positive quality.” 

Ranunthorn has an impressive background as a registered pharmacist in Thailand. “Mainly my previous work has been with pharmaceutical companies helping to register medicines with the Thai FDA. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree from the Pharmacy faculty at Rangsit University, Thailand.  My goal at that time was to become a clinical pharmacist so after working for a period of time, I went to complete my master’s degree in Clinical Pharmacy from the University of South Australia in Adelaide, Australia.”

When she was young Ranunthorn says she loved reading books and recalls heading to the Adelaide bookstore every day eagerly waiting for another Harry Potter sequel to be released. “I used to read books quite a lot when I was young. But recently everything has changed. For me, IT has become more important.  So now I am not really reading books much.”  

When not at work Ranunthorn enjoys gardening, photography, yoga and café hopping. “I really love drinking coffee!”
